SCOPE and CONTENTS

The Margaret Penny collection primarily contains her essays and research papers, written during her time as a student at the University of Kansas (KU), 1930s-1940s. The majority of the papers are dated 1939-1941, and subjects include Nazi propaganda, fashion, football, pacifism, religious ethics, gardening, and camping in Tonganoxie, Kansas.

The collection also includes a dance card from a 1940s Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity and Phi Chi Theta sorority event, a commencement program from 1943, two student identification cards from 1939-1941, and a letter from Harold G. Barr.
