BIOGRAPHY of Dinsmore Alter

Alter recieved his B.S. from Westminster College in 1909, his M.S. from Pittsburgh in 1910, and his Ph.D. from California in 1916. He joined the faculty of KU in 1917 as an Assistant Professor of Astronomy, reaching full Professor status in 1924. He retired in 1935 and died in 1968.
